Buy David Beckham’s Porsche 911 on eBay

If you like fast cars and are a Beckham fan then you’ll also need deep pockets if you want to bid on David Beckham’s personal Porsche 911 Turbo Convertible.

It was purchased new at Beverly Hills Porsche and then personalized with no expense spared including custom made silver ’23′ emblems on the bonnet, boot lid, wheels and steering wheel as well as embroidered on the front and rear seats and custom fitted floor mats. Number 23 was of course Beckham’s shirt number at LA Galaxy where he has played football for the past few years.

The original receipt is shown on the auction with a buy price of $145,790, but that didn’t include the cost of customising the car which cost $10,000s more.

Bidding which started at $75,000 has already topped $125,000 and there’s still five days left to run on the auction which finishes on the 12th January.

     I think that’s how it works on eBay Motors. Or at least that was basically what GM did when they briefly “sold” on eBay. They would have auctions and if you won you were expected to then negotiate with the dealership for the final details on the car. Lots of negatives and confusion seemed to be the end result.

     I think it means that if you don’t call them then they will cancel your bid, but don’t be afraid to call in the middle of the night if you’ve just found the auction and have a couple of hundred thousand dollars to splash.
