How to edit eBay item condition

Item condition is a required value in eBay listings as of 27th July. Some sellers – surprise – are having problems editing their listings. If that’s you, here are a couple of tips:

1. Make sure Turbo Lister is up to date
Hit ctrl + alt + shift + R to make sure your TL installation is completely up to date (or Tools->Install Complete Version Update if you’re not on a beta installation). This will force TL to go and download new category and item specifics information.

2. Try File Exchange
It’s not as scary as it looks at first: here’s a video by eBay Andy showing you how to use FE to change item condition ID.

Video via eBay Ink.

If you’re still having a problem, please leave a comment and we’ll do our best to help!

Correct –It’s a lot worse. Frightened the life out me.

Andy flicks between screens, update left right and centre whilst I looked on bewildered.

This was cruel Sue, funny but cruel

      Heheh. Sorry Glenn.
I’ve gotta say, when I played with FE, it REALLY wasn’t as scary as it looks when you get on and do it. Editing listings, particularly, I found to be much easier than using TL.

I remember downloading the “How to use File Exchange” PDF a couple of years ago and that scared me and i never went near it.

Having looked at the clip, it re-ignited my interest and having done a little Listen – Pause – Do i was able to update all my current listing conditions. Woooo-hooo.

Doesn’t help much if you use turbolister, as you first need to upload your files to Ebay, to revise them. But can’t do that, unless they are revised first.

I’d like to know what sellers use file exchange, only the “Diamond” sellers who have a few Ebay reps to handle there listing revisions using there “special invite only” tools?

Quite a few sellers use File Exchange. Diamonds are just going to use a company like Mercent, ChannelAdvisor, or the LMS API.

I’m a casual small seller and don’t use Turbo Lister and don’t have a lot of listings to change. I would just like to know how I can get “New” to show at the top of my listing where it says “item condition”. It is not in the list of specifics and I add it on my own but it does not appear at the top. Can anyone explain?
