Record $2.63m charity bid on eBay for Buffett lunch

There’s a new record for a charity item on eBay today – $2.63 million (about £1.8 million). The bid was placed for the annual lunch for eight people with Warren Buffett to benefit the Glide Foundation and smashes the previous record of $2,1 million, which was set in 2008 for the same prize.

Warren Buffett is CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, an investment company and is reknowned world wide for his successful investment strategies and is ranked the third richest person in the world at a estimated fortune of $47 billion.
