How not to do eBay for Charity, Katie Price style

Katie Price, bless her, having quit the Jungle early without her image being restored to it’s previous heady heights is now trying another tack – selling some personal items on eBay with a share of the dosh going to charity. She’s also picked up the Jordan moniker again and is using it as her user ID and eBay shop name.

Sadly no one seems to have explained how charity listings on eBay work. Her items simply carry the message “Katie will be donating a percentage of the sales to The Vision Charity and The Pituitary Foundation.” There’s nothing to say what percentage of sales will be going to each charity and no way for buyers to know how much of their bid price will benefit the good causes.

Still if you’d like to benefit the charities by an unknown amount and the lure of owning an ex-Jordan handbag, pair of shoes or item of clothing there’s a fair selection to choose from. Be prepared to pay more than you could buy new on the high street, although you do get an “Official Jordan’s Closet signed postcard” to certify it’s really from Katie.

I’m not sure why she chose the user id “jordans_closet79“, jordans_closet is available so the 79 tacked on the end is a mystery.

We dont use charity as a crutch for our conscience, or as a sales gimmick.
a percentage of every thing we sell , via income tax and vat ,is donated to charity.
charity is now an industry that uses pain, suffering, and the unfortunate, as its stock in trade

I think I will add a note to all our listings stating a percentage of the final price will be donated to various vagrants in shop doorwaysthat have dogs.
I am a soft touch for these people. they always get a fiver from me,
because I know the dog will get at least some of the money spent on it, and will be looked after as a valuable partner in the operation

And this is why these vagrants always insist on owning dogs that they are incapable of caring for adequately. They know that the general public have a soft spot for dogs, and will therefore top up their state benefit allowance more generously.

plus I would rather be ripped off directly by some tramp and his dog.
than pay for the cars, houses, and salary of
those in the mainstream charity industry

Does a three legged dog attract a greater donation?

A young guy called on the house today, apparently he was a young offender, had a badge and paperwork which looked ok, his supervisor was observing, poor bugger was obviously down on his luck.

He was selling dish cloths, aprons etc etc he left my house with £25, a bottle of lucozade, a sandwich and a packet of golden virgina. Ok, he could have just been a pikey but at least he was grafting trying to make a shilling. I’m with Norf, much happier handing it to some guy on a doorstep, so what if he spends it on booze, hardly likely to spend it on bloody furniture.

Re. dogs. I think they get an extra payment for having a dog.

I know my sight is failing of late but I can’t see any contact details, she is a business seller after all.

She should use an eBay for Charity listing or not say anything.

Agree with the above comments on dogs, would buy dog food though rather than give money to someone.
