Free auction listings for private sellers 5th – 6th Dec
by Chris Dawson
There’s a free listing weekend on Saturday 5th to Sunday 6th December, but only for auctions and only for private sellers.
eBay have also created an “eBay House” where consumers can browse for some ideas of what to sell along with average sale guide prices. It’s again worth remembering that buyers that sell the odd item tend to buy more in the future. With that in mind the eBay House isn’t a bad idea for giving buyers some prompts of what they could sell. If nothing else once they’ve got some money in their PayPal account they’re just as likely to spend it as to withdraw a few quid to their bank account.

In theory, this is a good thing. In practice all that happens is some people have a clear out and list a handful of items. But they are totally swamped by the businesses that have not been forced to upgrade to business accounts as was promised who will get ready to flood eBay with their items in as many multiples as possible.
Where is the urinal? funny house.
Why not have a promotion where overseas sellers would get a 5p credit for all 99p auction listings + a 5p “bonus” credit if the item breaks UK/EU regulations? Outlet sellers could also be invited to take part but the credit is dependent on non compliant terms + a bonus for including their URL.
Nice one Jimbo.
