eBay Enhanced Reporting refocused on counterfeits
Some experienced eBay users have access to a program called Enhanced Member Reporting (EMR) The program enables participants to mass report offending listings to eBay customer support without the tedious cut and past of item numbers, clicking through multiple reporting options and the limit of reporting 10 item numbers at one time.
eBay are now making some changes to the program, the most significant of which is to remove listing policy violations and flagging items prohibited for sale on eBay from the EMR reporting tool. EMR participants have been told this is to allow them to concentrate on reporting counterfeits and misrepresented items (e.g. listing in an inappropriate category).
eBay are advising EMR participants that to report listing policy or other violations via the standard reporting tools available to all eBay users. One EMR member told me that it pretty much spells the end of their policing days. They simply don’t have time to click though multiple options to report listings.
A second EMR participant pointed out they believe eBay should take a more holistic view of counterfeiters and that they used the discontinued options to report serial policy violators. They told me that when a business is selling counterfeit goods they’re often purporting not to be businesses and charging excessive postage and in the past it has been useful to flag these additional violations to eBay.

It has always been a mystery to me why ebay when they get one item reported from a particular seller simply did not check all the items listed by that seller which would do away with the tedious multi reporting.
Too simple a solution I suppose.
I’ve never been a fan of user reporting anyway.
