eBay negotiate Collect+ discount for eBay sellers
16/10/2009 at 16:39
Collect+ are the latest delivery company to announce a discount for eBay sellers. eBay have been talking with them behind the scenes and they’ve lowered their price to £3.79 for parcels up to 10kg.
I’ve just checked the distance to the nearest Collect+ stores if I were to send a parcel to my mother on the Isle of Wight – my nearest location is 0.31 miles away and my mother would have even less distance to travel at just 0.12 miles from her house. That’s pretty impressive!
Offering the convenience of dropping off parcels at a PayPoint outlet and delivering via the HDN to a retailer near your customer the service normally takes 3-5 days. Not only that but they can offer an easy paid returns process for sellers – simply book a delivery and email the .pdf shipping label to your customer and they can drop the item off at a local store at a time convenient to them.
Edited to add: As of this afternoon Collect+ accept PayPal

Any word on how this fits with the Paypal Seller Protection, and sending to a confirmed address?

It would be nice if Collect+ could offer a service where parcels are dropped off at a local store, but able to be delivered to any address.
Would save waiting all day for a collection.

Just used collect+, the service was poor, the 3 most local retailer from me either didn’t have a scanner, or openly expressed that they couldn’t be bothered to send parcels, only receive them. The paypony scanner did not want to scan the label I printed off. Collect+ need to do some more work before opening this service to the general public. I don’t feel it’s cost effective either bearing in mind both sender and recepient need to travel to a ‘local’ store.

Whereabouts are you, Erv? I’ve looked in every place I’ve ever lived (admittedly, all big urban places) and there’s been a Collect+ point within a mile every time, and usually somewhere I’d be going anyway.
Worrying about the “can’t be bothered to send parcels” issue though.
