eBay AdCommerce explained – 4.30pm 15th Sept

If like me you’ve struggled to make eBay AdCommerce work then the webinar eBay are hosting tomorrow (Tuesday, 15th September) at 4.30pm should be of interest.

With overview of AdCommerce as well as optimisation tips and upcoming features. If you have used AdCommerce in the past they’ve already added some neat enhancements such as dynamic keyword insertion. Keyword Insertion creates an ad template that injects the text of the buyer’s search into your ad, tailoring it to exactly what they’re looking for.

I’m hoping one of the “upcoming features” will be click through data so this is one webinar I’ll be sure not to miss.

You’ll need access to the web as well as a telephone line, but don’t worry the call is free so attending won’t cost you a penny. The details you need to join the webinar are:

Conference ID: 83477833
UK-Free Dial In #: 0800 694 2603
International Dial In #: +44 (0) 1452 559 645

If you can’t track clicks the whole concept is pointless.

I will listen in hoping they will announce they have added some click through info, if they haven’t then you may aswell flog a dead horse.

        It’s like a bad dream.

eBay, the largest online ecommerce business in the world doesn’t have the technology to add tracking data to its adcommerce program  pull the other one boys, you must think we are thick as dogs sh*te, of course you can add the info, you just don’t want to.

It’s like the latest ommniture bug ‘We have identified the issue and plan to have it resolved by mid-September.’ that was announced on the 19th Aug. Does this mean that that the team responsible are topping up there tan in St Tropez ?

        Give me strength.

One can only assume that as they haven’t released conversion rate figures, the figures they obviously have themselves aren’t too impressive.

Which is a shame, because sellers who are putting a lot of effort into Adcommerce are saying it’s doing wonders for their traffic. :???:

It’s a shame, they are retiring featured listings but keeping this crap

The featured listings produced. This AdCommerce is just a big waste of money.

    What David said.

I can’t spend £1000 on FF from next month, I make that £12,000 for a year. o well, google can have until I make TRS….. sometime next decade.

      Lino says:

We’re in the same boat as Whirly, although we only spend about £6,000 a year on FF. That’s £18,000 eBay have lost from 2 sellers.

They ain’t bothered, they can get that back from the hong kong sellers selling rubber ducks and blow up pillows  o no, hang on, they don’t pay for anything as they are all 99p auctions from private sellers…who just happen to own the biggest inventory of rubber ducks in history.

        easy come, easy go.

Actually I can kind of understand why ebay are doing away with FF.

Whats the point in rewarding good sellers with better search standing if some rubbish seller can just buy his way to the top?

            Paul says:

99.9% of eBayer’s are fantastic sellers. Don’t belive the cr*p that eBay are feeding you.

            Paul says:

Discontinuing Features makes no sense at all.

Sellers don’t you the upgrades to get themselves to the top of the search, they use them to get their products up there.

Some products sell in higher volume than others, and the need extra exposure to maximise profits. Yes I said maximise profits, for us the sellers. We are not here just to play with stars and moan about eBay politics, we must make money, so we can pay a few bills.

Having slow moving items grouped with fast moving items will not work. Buyers can’t find what they are looking for, and our £15,000 extra on Google is starting to look good.

            See ya later eBay.

            David says:

I agree but the standards are way too high for entry in the eTRS program.

I actually think that they should limit featured auctions to sellers with a lot of feedbacks and 4.8′s on DSR’s.

the eTRS program though is a joke as you only needs 98% 3′s, 4′s, and 5′s if you only have 100 transactions, yet if you have thousands you need 99.5%

      Same boat here.

We spend £15,000 per month on FF, FP, Bold & Highlight.

Google will be laughing with an extra £180,000 in their bank over the next 12 months.

eBay can continue to meet their unambitious targets.

That is an amazing amount. Can I ask you turnover or item total?

It must be huge to justify that kind of investment.
