Schwarzenegger flogs California’s cars on eBay

Arnold Schwarzenegger, Governor of California is flogging excess motors and equipment to raise money for the State. Not only that but in an effort to raise prices he’s been busy personally signing sun visors on the cars that they’re selling.

arniesigningcarvisorsSchwarzenegger posted on Twitter “I look forward to selling these signed cars and making some $ for California.” before promptly listing them on eBay.

The idea for signing the items for sale came from one of Schwarzenegger’s many twitter followers.

It’s been widely publicised that California has a budget deficit of $26bn, and selling off surplus items makes sense. With ex eBay CEO Meg Whitman running to replace Schwarzenegger as Governor, it’ll be interesting to see if she carries on eBaying off California’s unwanted items.

      According to this page:

      http://www.laalmanac.com/transport/tr02.htm

There are about 19.8 million cars in California. If these were all sold for a average of $1000 it would raise just under $20 billion, a considerable dent in $26 billion I’d say.

Speaking of selling cars on eBay has anyone here noticed the feedback GM has? 66% (4 positive buyers, 2 negative buyers). And that’s with over 11k active (31k closed) listings for at least two weeks.
