Murray Newlands interviews Will Martin-Gill, eBay’s Director of Internet Marketing, about the eBay Partner Network affiliate program. Will talks about advances in comparison shopping sites, a new widget which (as Murray says) sounds a lot like Google Adsense, and recent rule changes for EPN. Worth a listen.

Unless I’m mistaken the ‘new’ widget is just their Flash Custom Banner tool that’s been on their widgets page for several months (flagged as beta but works reliably).
It would be nice if it was more like adsense (i.e. aware of the page content and tuning the items promoted to suit that content) but it just displays a scrolling search phrase result.
