eBay India runs cross border trade promo

eBay India is the latest site to step up their cross border trade promotions with a cheap listing week. Indian sellers will save 50% off normal International Listing Fees if they’ve not used them in the last three months. The promotion runs from the 14th – 18th April.

Strong Pound eBay.co.ukIf you’ve visited the eBay UK home page recently you can hardly have missed the strong pound messages encouraging buyers to purchase from the US.

Recent US marketing has also been based around the weakness of the $, encouraging US sellers to list in Europe, and in particular the UK.

Along with the new International Visibility listing upgrade it’s pretty clear that eBay want to encourage more cross border trade. If you’re not already listing Internationally the International Visibility upgrade is the perfect way to experiment with new markets.

It is cheaper just to list on .com I believe…

Than pay the upgrade, even with the FVF.

    15p extra for gallery.
15p extra (for most of our items) for upgrade.

And the other downside, your listings appear in £’s and US buyers don’t like £ signs as much as $ signs it would seem…
