Royal Mail strikes cancelled by courts

Royal Mail have won a small victory to keep our mail moving. A High Court injunction temporarily blocking strike action for next week has been granted. Monday and Tuesday’s strikes have been deemed illegal as Royal Mail weren’t given adequate information on how many workers would be affected by the action, which is a requirement for the strikes to be legal.
Sadly this is unlikely to give much relief, it’s not a mistake the unions are likely to make again. The CWU and Royal Mail are still talking, but latest reports are that they’re making no headway towards resolving outstanding issues. It’s highly likely more strikes will be announced by next week in addition to those scheduled for Wednesday onwards.
