Teacher accused of selling girl’s jacket on eBay

An Oregon teacher has been accused of stealing a pupil’s coat and selling it on eBay. The eight-year old owner of the $114 coat took it off because she was too warm: the coat disappeared shortly afterwards. When it couldn’t be found, the girl’s mother finally turned to eBay for a replacement. Apparently she found an identical coat listed by a seller in the same town, with another bidder, again from the same town, whom she contacted to warn that the coat could be stolen. Reports say that this bidder was a friend of the seller, and that she was asked by the seller to ensure that she outbid the mother.

Allegedly the auction in question is this one. The 41-year old teacher is on paid leave. Her eBay account is NARU.
